2282 Somer Squadron ATC Website

Welcome the 2282 Somer Squadron Website

There are many opportunities in the ATC; fantastic camps, pulse raising activities like flying and gliding, chances to shoot and gain a marksmen award and many more. The squadron is run by a team of volunteers, some have been enrolled as officers by the ATC HQ, and others have been enrolled as adult NCOs. We also have a Team of Civilian Instructors (CIs). This is a team of people who are authorised to take the cadets on activities and to teach them some of the topics that they will be learning as part of the ATC.

Posted by Administrator on 03-06-2008

The Centurions Challenge is a 100 miles walk from Beechen Cliff School to Hungerford and back again in 48 hours. CPL Groves is doing it along with 7 people from Beechen Cliff at the end of June.
They will start at 4.00 on Friday and finish at 4.00 on Sunday. On Friday we have to walk and run 26 miles to Horton Bridge; then it's 46 miles to Hungerford and back to Horton Bridge; followed by
another 26 miles on Sunday to home.
They are all members of the Interact Club of Bath, an off branch of the Rotary Club, and are all collecting sponsorship for this cause. Currently at Interact they are raising money for Julian House, a local homeless charity, and Graceland Pre-School in South Africa, for children with foetal alcohol syndrome).
